Orphanage desperate need for appliances.
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Pete Rys and I am raising funds for an orphanage I visited recently on the Samana Peninsula in the Domincan Republic. It is run by an organization called Advocates of Love. I was VERY pleased to see these children well fed, clothed nicely, and had very nice accommodations for sleeping, eating, and recreation. On top of that, I also witnessed these children being “loved on” by workers and volunteers, despite not having a mother or father in their lives at this time to provide that. You can also see the orphanage at AdvocatesofLove.com.
The purpose of this post is that I simply wanted the local community to know the orphanage still has needs. The one that stuck out to me was the need for a dependable refrigerator and freezer. The one they have now works sometimes. When you are feeding 30+ people on a strict, limited budget, “sometimes” is not good enough. Having enough food is ALWAYS an issue, God forbid any gets wasted due to a malfunctioning appliance.
Is there anyone out there that would be willing to contribute to getting a new refrigerator and freezer for these kids? I know there are MANY truly compassionate people in this world and if they only knew of a need would gladly step up and help fill that need. Therefore, I have created this “GoFundMe” account that will allow you to do just that. Let’s show these kids they are not forgotten, we DO CARE! Since I have recently left the Dominican Republic, I have asked local residents, and volunteers at the orphanage, Deb and Brad Johnson, to purchase the refrigerator and freezer from this account. I will oversee the account and the purchase, and do my very best to be transparent and accountable. I want you to be assured EVERY SINGLE penny goes to these kids.
Thank you in advance for your generosity! I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to share this with you!
