Orphanage - Cebu, Phillipines
Donation protected
My job takes me to the beautiful island of Cebu in the Philippines a few times a year. The first time I visited, I was overwhelmed to see this beautiful country, and beautiful kind, loving, generous people living in such poverty under circumstances we cannot even imagine.... One day I was spending my time in the glamorous local shopping centre which offers the newest fashion from Europe and from all over the world with the very same price tag as in Australia, in huge contrast with what’s happening five minutes away, around the corner!
I was ready to spend some money in ZARA on clothes I do not need but I couldn't because I didn't have my passport on me.... that night I thought to myself if I can afford to spend hundreds of dollars on "luxury" I clearly don't need that money and I asked my beautiful friends at work the very next day to help me visit an orphanage as I would like to give something back..... So they did! In their own free time -and I could not have done it without them... we were able to buy so many toys, books etc with that money; we even bought breakfast for 20+ kids, so they had the food sorted for that day!
These kids have nothing, they live with the bare minimum, they lack staff so the older kids look after the little ones, teach them, play with them, give them hugs, dry their tears, put them to bed.
So I promised myself I will try and help a little bit more with helps of others. This the place to donate if you have some money to spare to a good cause. I am also collecting soft toys and kids clothes, however, I can only take so much in my suitcases.
We are very fortunate here and without even noticing we get so much from life, from others every day so we can give back a little... maybe not to the very same person we received from but that's how life is perfectly balanced.
Thank you all for reading this and thank you all in advance for your help. ❤
