ORLOWSKI FAMILY FIRE Support

Hello all,

Early this morning (September 13, 2020) my sister's boyfriends (Peter) apartment was one of the homes destroyed in the 13th avenue fire. The fire erupted from one home and quickly became a 5 alarm fire destroying 2 homes in the neighborhood. 

Peter and his family( parents, sister & dog) lived in one of the homes. As of early this morning that was taken away from them along with all their belongings inside. While we are endlessly grateful that they are safe, it breaks our hearts that their home and belongings are destroyed. Memories in photos, items they cherished all up in a blaze. They do not have renters insurance and have to start from scratch. 

Here's the stomach kick- PETER IS A FIREFIGHTER!!! He has been serving Brooklyn, New York for 5 years! Even though he was NOT on duty yesterday, despite NOT having his fire suit, he still managed to run in to a different home and carried an elderly man out to safety. He did not think of himself, he jumped into action. This speaks to the character of who Peter is... he is a kind, honest and loyal to those around him, even those he does not know. 

I have set up this GoFund me page in an effort to help Peter and his family get on their feet and attempt to pick up the pieces after this tragedy.
