Orleans Fire December 5, 2018
Donation protected
Tragedy struck the Orleans neighbourhood of Convent Glen North on Wednesday December 5th, 2018 as a fire broke out in a home on Voyageur Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters declared a working fire, as there was also heavy flames visible from the front of the home. The blaze was upgraded to a second alarm.
Ottawa fire officials say the home was unoccupied at the time of the call, so no one was injured, however the family pets did die in the fire. Lost were the family's two dogs, two cats, 3 foster kittens, a snake and a bearded dragon.
The family of 5 is receiving support from the Red Cross and Salvation Army. As shock wears off, the family will be on a long road of recovery to heal their hearts. Your support is greatly appreciated to help with the emotional stress of this difficult time.
