Your kind words of support and generosity have overwhelmed Lano’s family with gratitude. It is truly inspirational to see that we reached our communal goal in such a short period of time. Let’s keep Lano and his family in our thoughts and in our hearts during this difficult time.

Orlando Vega (“Lano”) was born to Jose & Isabel Vega on January 8, 1971 in East Los Angeles CA. He was born into a large family full of love, life and laughter. It was this environment that helped mold him into the wonderful loving man he became, always exhibiting a great sense of humor, patience and a calming demeanor about him. In the year 1992 at the age of 21, he married his childhood friend and sweet heart Maria, forming the beginnings of his very own family. In the year 1995, Lano and Maria were blessed with the arrival of their daughter Ariana and five years later in 2000 were blessed once again with the arrival of their daughter Gabriela. In 2001, Lano and Maria moved and made their residence in San Lorenzo CA, where they too provided for their daughters a home full of love, life and laughter.
In recent months Lano became challenged with deteriorating health issues, which proved to be very taxing. Ever the fighter and optimist, Lano held on to the hope that his health would return, valiantly exhibiting a positive attitude for family and friends. Though his heart and mind yearned to remain longer in this world, with his beloved daughters and wife, with his parents and extended family, and with his multitude of friends, his body could not sustain him further.
So as to help Lano’s family with the burden of unforeseen funeral expenses, his extended family and friends have set up this gofundme account so that they may pool their love and provide the family with a token of their support and affection.
Holy mass celebrating Lano’s life will be on Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Jarlath Catholic Church located at 2620 Pleasant Street, Oakland, CA (near intersection of Fruitvale Avenue and I-580). Holy mass will commence at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life reception following immediately thereafter in the church’s hall.
