It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you today. We have recently experienced an unexpected and devastating loss with the passing of Orlando Centeno on OCT 26th 2023.

Orlando Centeno was admitted to Elmhurst Hospital on September 26, 2023. On October 12, 2023, he received a diagnosis of stage four cancer, specifically renal cell carcinoma, which originated in his kidney and had spread to his lungs, making it difficult for him to breathe. On October 19, he was administered immunotherapy medication, Pembrolizumab Injection (Keytruda), but unfortunately, his symptoms did not improve; in fact, he deteriorated further. Throughout his hospitalization, his energy declined, leading to his refusal to eat and difficulty walking.

With each passing day, his condition worsened. On October 24th, a meeting with palliative doctors resulted in the suggestion that he be released for home hospice care. Sadly, on October 26, 2023, Orlando Centeno passed away at 2:45 am. His family will forever miss and remember him.
