Orkney crisp packet survival blankets

Donation protected
He, I am Tracey Sedgwick & I run Recycle Sanday.
Sanday is a remote outer Northern Orkney island, with a population of approximately 500 residents. Because of our location, our island has very limited council recycling options, with most things going into the general waste collection. We aim to change that!
Our moto is Resource, Re-use, Repurpose & we aim to find ways of recycling as many products as possible, whilst offering paid real wage employment to get the job done!
Sustainable employment can be difficult in rural, remote areas & many residents find it difficult to earn a living here.
We want to save the environment whilst allowing as many people that want to, to live & thrive on our beautiful island.
The idea is simple- we take donated crisp packets (that are very difficult to recycle via normal methods), wash dry & iron them together into lightweight, waterproof blankets, sleeping bags ground sheets & shelter covers. We then send these to charities that distribute them to the homeless & refugees.
The fused silver lining of crisp packets (the very thing that makes them difficult to recycle) means the completed blankets reflect body heat so they are extremely warm, or with silver side outwards, reflect the sun, making perfect shelter covers for refugees in hot countries.
Funds raised will also cover the cost of offering a FREEPOST Recycle Sanday service so that crisp packet donations are easy & free, as well as covering distribution costs of getting finished products to the charities for distribution.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
