Our Sweet boy Orion had a hard start to life. He was rescued from abusive owners in Egypt that traumatized him and didn't provide any medical care. We adopted him in August 2021 from a foster and he came to Canada very sick and in bad physical shape, and as such we are unsure of his age (vets estimate atound 6 years old). He has come such a long way socially, but continues to have medical challenges. Orion has herpes which he takes daily supplements for, he has a skin condition which he gets topical treatments for, and he was diagnosed a few years ago with a heart murmur. Yesterday Orion ended up in the Emergency Vet with blood in his urine and lethargy which incured a $900 bill and a diagnosis of crystals in his urine. Going forward he will permanently need prescription urinary soft and hard food. He will also need to get an x-ray to assess for stones and potentially may need surgery if they are too large to pass on his own. We were also informed at the emergency visit that his heart murmur has been graded higher than what we previously thought and that he will need to see a cardiologist and will need an echocardiogram. Orion may have heart disease based on the severity of his murmur and may end up needing ongoing treatment for that as well. We were also informed that within the next year he may need some teeth pulled as he has bad genetics. We love him very much and want to provide him with the best care possible. We are doing everything we can but his vet bills are just going to keep piling up and it's a challenge to afford all of his ongoing care while still needing to pay our other bills. We would appreciate any donation to help our boy. Thank you in advance!❤️
