Help Bring Orion Home from the Vet!
Good people of the internet,
My name is Drake, and this is my sweet, sweet boy, Orion.
My wife Steph and I adopted this adorable little sausage only a few months ago, back in April. Before blessing us with his love and joy, he was wandering the streets of San Antonio as a street dog. We love this little guy. He has filled our lives with so much love and joy. He is so loving and affectionate; we felt so happy to bring him into our home and make him feel nothing but comfort and peace. We have had such an incredible time training him, getting to know him, finding out his favorite toys, and what makes him happy, what makes him nervous. He has been so sweet to us from day one, even so much as waking me up in the mornings when I don't want to get out of bed and smacking my phone out of my hand when I'm not giving him enough attention—an absolute sweetheart who loves people, food, fun, and other dogs.
Part of this boy's unfortunate past on the street included a diagnosis of heartworm. Although it would take some time and work, we love this guy and had no issue doing what it takes to get him happy and healthy. However, things took a sudden turn for the worse only a few days ago when we found out that, after eating something, he sustained a severe intestinal obstruction. Due to his heartworm medication, it required emergency surgery to be performed by a specialist board-certified surgeon. The only one available was at a university vet hospital over an hour away.
Here, dear reader is where I need your help.
Orion is alive and fighting to live. His surgery was successful, but he has a difficult recovery due to the heartworm medication slowing things down and adding stress to his system—our issue: the massive cost of his vet hospital stay. We are struggling to come up with the funds to keep up with his care. The bills have almost tripled the original estimate. Any donation helps us keep him going to make a full recovery and get back to enjoying life. This dog means everything to my wife and me, so anyone who donates will be a saint to us. I will personally thank every single person who helps and do whatever I possibly can to repay your kindness.
Help us bring our sweet boy home.
With the utmost love and thanks,
Drake & Steph.
