Hi Everyone! Our new 9 month old puppy, Orion Skye Rose, was recently diagnosed with severe Pulmonic Stenosis. So we had to immediately stop all running, vigorous play, and park time, as it will risk sudden death. Luckily, with our vet visit follow ups, we were able to find this out sooner that rather than later.

This definitely hits very close to home, as this past June of 2024, we found out our 9 year old fur babe, Bella Rose only had 2 weeks from her diagnosis, where the cancer spread to her lungs. We truly believe Bella sent a baby version of herself to the shelter, where we then adopted little 9 week old “Orion”, as we knew we had more love to share in this world.

We immediately enrolled him in pet insurance, to protect his future health, assuming this would help us avoid what we previously experienced with Bella. Unfortunately, with their policy, anything diagnosed within the first year as a puppy is considered “pre-existing”, and will not be covered. Moving forward, we got a second opinion with UC Davis Veterinary Cardiology. With great relief, during our visit, we found out they find him to be a great candidate for a Pulmonary Balloon Valvuloplasty.

We shed a lot of tears with his initial diagnosis, when our original vet did not think this procedure would benefit him in any way. He is now scheduled for his Balloon Valvuloplasty procedure on 3/19/2025. (Another more urgent dog had to take his 3/12 spot).

So here we are, sharing our vulnerability to our situation, and humbly asking for any amount you have to donate, or if not, prayers for Orion’s successful, healthy, and strong recovery. Anything would be greatly appreciated. We are two loving humans, who care deeply for our pups, as they’re our kids. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and anything you may be able to offer.
