Update as of 12/20/24 Oreo has been in surgery since 3pm. Thank you so much to everyone for your donations. All of you are amazing! Your generosity warms my heart.
I will be creating a Facebook page to share his recovery.
Today a neighbor found Oreo at Scripps Ranch Community Park. He was left at the park with the bandage on his front leg (they think it was on here for 7-10 days). When she found him he was meowing. I rushed Oreo to the Specialty Hospital in Sorento Valley. They immediately provided him care and gave him meds to help with the pain. After an exam they shared that Oreo needs surgery but feel good that he will have a high quality life ahead of him. He is a male and is between 7-9 months old. Including today's care and the surgery tomorrow the estimated bill is $11,300 as they will need to amputate his front leg due to the bandage being on their so tight and for so long, as well as surgery on his tail. Would really appreciate any donation amount to help pay me pay for his care. The vet shared that he is now purring and is safely resting waiting for surgery tomorrow 12/20/14. I'm excited to give Oreo a second chance.
They also believe this might have been caused by him getting caught in a car fan belt. Important to remember to check the hoods of your cars before starting your car so that doesn't happen to another cat.
