Oreo's Fight: Support His Recovery

My name is Nicole, and I need help. My little boy Oreo escaped from our fenced yard last night, and I found him nearly two hours later—bloodied, shaken, and hurt. The blood on him wasn’t his, and there was dried spit matted in his fur. I found him lying in a stranger’s yard about half a mile away, near a neighborhood across from our home in the country. He’s gotten out before, but he’s never come back like this.

I believe he ran across the street and was attacked by other dogs or over a fence. Since last night, I’ve been calling every emergency vet I can—but I don’t have the funds even for a basic exam, let alone the treatment he desperately needs.

This morning, his left eye swelled shut and started oozing thick green discharge. It’s clearly infected. I’ve been gently cleaning it with warm water when he lets me, but he’s in pain and getting worse. He’s moving very little, though he can still adjust himself. He’ll only drink small amounts of water when I bring it to him, and he’s eating—but only from my hand. He’s still fighting.

Vets want to do:

• X-rays and blood work ($500+)

• Possibly remove the damaged eye if it can’t be saved

• Pain meds and antibiotics, just to stabilize him

I’m not trying to raise thousands—I’m just asking for help to get him seen, relieve his pain, and stop this infection from spreading. Oreo is my heart. He does not deserve this.
