Oregon Santos FC Inter 2003 Boys Soccer Club

Unlike private teams around here, we are not an affluent bunch. My team works hard not only on the field, but off. They all go to school, have jobs, and as Latinos who appreciate the importance of family, they help with the family’s bills. This is their last year for club and this is the first year we have been accepted to the San Diego Surfcup. I would love for us to be able to make this a memory they will never forget.

Santos FC 2003 Boys Inter Team is looking for support to attend the San Diego Surfcup November 26, 2021. I encourage you to read the information below to see our journey and know that your contribution would be helping these players gain visibility to collegiate coaches so they can further their education and athletics at the collegiate level.
Our Journey
The Santos FC 2001 Inter team approached me and asked if I could coach their 2001 team. This was a phenomenally technical team that needed some tactical work but in the end was ranked 2nd in the State or Oregon prior to when COVID hit and unfortunately, they never had the opportunity to fight for that number 1 position in state cup. The following season this group of 2001/2002/2003 players asked if I would coach a 2002/2003 team. In 2021 our 2002 team finished in the Semi-Finals in a tough 4-3 loss to WSTs, the 2002 Team than graduated three 2002 players and we continue today with the 2003 team. This team is one to watch. I love watching the mental and physical toughness they each put into the game. I understand people indicate, "why don't they work for the tickets". They all work, they all help pay bills for their families so extra money is always tight for them to just hand over. Santos FC is a non-profit, coaches do not get paid to coach, coaches also pay into the program as well to help reduce fees, coaches work to collect donations to ensure players can play at a premiere/super level at low fees.

I am asking if you could support us as we try to raise money to fly to San Diego. I would like to fly to ensure our players have time to spend with their families on Thanksgiving. If we cannot raise the funds to fly, we will be enduring the 18 hour drive early Thanksgiving morning and players will not have that time to spend with their families. If you are supporting our team and we do not make the $10,000 we need to fly players down to San Diego the funds raised will then support our registration fee ($1670), transportation fees (5 Day Van Rental $1500), gas fee (Undetermined), hotel fees ($4000) and food fees.

Please join our support team and follow us on Instagram @santosfc_inter
I appreciate all your support.

‘I want to thank my coaches, Gracey (Mosquera) and Lisa Harings especially, since she's the one who pushed me to get to where I am now,’ he said. ‘Also, all the staff members, along with all my teammates.’ - Oscar Macias - Player of the Year for the State of Oregon 6A Boys Soccer
