PRIESTHOOD FOR WOMEN IS ON THE TABLE
The ordination of women as priests is open for discernment through the Synod on Synodality. Priesthood for women is officially on the table, even if the institutional Church is proceeding as if this is not the case.
THE PATH TO CHANGE IS PRESENT
- The majority of Catholics in many countries believe women should be ordained as priests.
- Thousands of priests, deacons, religious and bishops also privately believe that women should be ordained to the priesthood, but they remain silent/silenced.
- The institutional Church can no longer claim this issue is closed because the Synod has revealed this is not the case. (Indeed, it never was.)
CHANGE IS POSSIBLE ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME
A crack in the door is now present. We must thrust open the door to equality or it will slam shut for generations to come. The Synod concludes in October 2024.
