OVERVIEW
“Orand”is a psychological drama that explores a man’s internal struggle with his obsessions and reality. Our central character, Orand, a brilliant theoretical physicist seeks to win back the one woman to ever love him but his methods are unconventional.
WHY WE'RE DOING THIS
Everyone in life has a subconscious yearning for affirmation. Affirmation in what they feel, their desires, and needs; story helps us affirm these things. People watch movies to be entertained but there is the subconscious desire to know that others feel what you feel and that pulls people back again and again. This gives the viewer a sense of belonging and enjoyment. My goal as a filmmaker is to take those emotions, and via brilliant stories, share it with the world.
“Orand”is a complex psychological drama inspired by films such as “A Beautiful Mind”(2001) and “Inception”(2010).
Like these great works, “Orand”seeks to explore subjective reality vs. objective reality. Orand deals with an internal struggle of his obsessions over reality.
THE STORY
“Orand”is a psychological drama about a reclusive physicist who tries to win back the one woman to ever love him after pushing her away. But by doing so his world turns into a recurring nightmare.
WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR
The majority of the budget will go to our G&E and Production Design departments. We are shooting on a Sony CineAlta F65, the same camera used for feature films such as "Ex Machina" and "Lucy". We believe your film is only as good as it's production design so we are investing in our designer, Kat, knowing she will deliver the vision of this story. And no set is functional without on-set food for cast and crew. Equipment, transportation, and food are all essential to making out story come to life.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Our goal as filmmakers is to take emotions that have given us insight into the world and who we are, via brilliant stories, and share it with the world. It’s a burning desire that we have had since we were young and no matter what stands in the way we feel compelled to keep sharing. So, we are ready to share our stories with the world. Hopefully we can bring some sense of entertainment, wonderment, and a genuine emotional experience that makes you, the viewers, have a sense of affirmation as to who you are and how you feel; leaving the theater inspired and enlightened just as we have been so many times before.
