Oral Surgery for Cody Turek

Hello everyone! I was hesitant to create this page, because gofundme seems to be so watered down nowadays. I was planning to do an in person fundraiser on Sunday before Labor Day, but I am worried that people already have plans being it's 3 weeks away. So a friend convinced me to do a gofundme page.

My son is in dire need of oral surgery. Due to a lifelong condition of a severe seizure disorder and autism, his teeth have suffered over the years due to being weakened from seizure activity as well as the tremendous amount of anti seizure drugs he was on all of his life. His teeth have decayed much faster and he needs 3 of them repaired, 9 of them filled as well as a couple wisdom teeth extractions. He is on two insurance policies, Medical Mutual (under his deceased mother and stepfather) and he automatically gets Buckeye because he is a patient of the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The problem is that he must have children's oral surgery because he has to be put out because of his sensory issues. The place to conduct his surgeries is out of network with medical mutual and the cost is roughly $2,000 to do the procedures. They want a minimum of 60-75% of the cost upfront. Buckeye would cover 100% but only if he was dropped from his stepfather's medical mutual plan. We tried to get him taken off, but they won't do it until open enrollment in April of 2024! We don't have that kind of time to wait. So I'm stuck trying to figure out how to raise the money to get his oral surgery done on Sept 6th. My goal is to raise $1500 and then they will let me have some time to get the rest of the money together to pay it off.

We've done fundraisers before for Cody, and they have all been successful and I'm forever grateful. This last one I'm putting out is to address his dental health.....a lasting by-product of his life of seizures and medications. If you're able to help, we will be forever grateful. Thank you!
