Mike was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in November 2011 from Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo. After 6 different chemotherapy’s, including a treatment that resulted in a hospital stay and the loss of his hair, he endured them all and finally found one that worked, treatment #7. With love and support from his wife, Maureen, his daughter and son in law, Michelle and Brian, his son Michael, and with the support of friends and family, he was finally getting the results he wanted in April 2014. Roswell Park and his doctors have been extremely optimistic and supportive through this journey.
The next step is to proceed with the bone marrow transplant in May 2015 and with lots of prayers and support, a long and painful journey may be coming to an end. After testing all of his siblings, Mike’s brother Jim was found to be a perfect match so the doctors are very positive about the transplant.
The bone marrow transplant will be a year long process including a lot of blood tests and therapy that will keep his family busy. Over the next year, Mike will be very limited in what he can do so he will heavily rely on family and friends for support.

Family Bio:
Mike and Maureen were married in Buffalo NY on September 25, 1982 and will celebrate 33 years of marriage this September as Mike recovers from the bone marrow transplant.
On August 27th, 1984 they welcomed their first child and daughter, Michelle. Michelle married Brian McConville in October 2013 and are expecting Mike and Maureen’s first grandchild in April 2015. They currently live in Tampa FL and will be visiting this summer and over the holidays to help as Mike recovers
On December 30, 1987 their son Michael was born. He currently lives in Buffalo and will be spending a lot of time over the next year helping Maureen as Mike recovers.
