Ms. Tingley's Classroom 2016
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Rachel Tingley, and I will be a first-year teacher at Edison Park Elementary School, a neighborhood school that's part of the Chicago Public School system. I'm tremendously excited, but I could use your help. #GFMtoSchool !
As a first-year teacher, I am beginning my classroom teaching experience with very little learning manipulatives, classroom fixtures, or even books. Over time, teachers purchase these materials on their own to create classroom environments that nurture and encourage students' growth and learning. As I am just starting out as a teacher, I have almost no materials to make my classroom match what my inner vision.
That's where you come in. If you donate to my cause, you will help me to create a classroom that features:
1. A classroom library filled with books that fosters and encourages a love of reading, with furniture that brightly displays books and reading materials
2. A laminator for work that students and I have created
3. Stickers and teacher stamps
4. Chair pockets for students' personal items
5. Clipboards, giant post-it paper, individual whiteboards, a classroom calendar, materials for classroom bulletin boards, all-purpose cleaner for when things inevitably spill, and all of the million gazillion things that are going to come up that I am going to need to buy over the course of a school year
By donating to my classroom, you are helping me create an environment that not only fosters learning, but is comfortable, engaging, loving, and safe. This would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much,
Ms. Tingley
