Opportunity to assist the Donovans

In respect for my parent's privacy, I won't be writing about the medical details, but the time has come in my life to be geographically closer to Mom & Dad.

When Amyrose & I visited "our parents" in December, I was invited to play piano in the senior rehabilitation facility.

Little did I know I would be stepping into a calling to provide musical services to those in need of joy & inspiration during their final years,  weeks, or moments of life. The response was overwhelming, as I played 4 more times that week, with future opportunities to have this as supplemental streams of revenue.

This week we took a step of faith & have suddenly relocated to Sarasota, FL. First full day here I secured an interview at the premier music teaching academy in Sarasota, and began instructing the same day. I am now being handed a full schedule of multi-instrumental lessons weekly. This normally takes months to happen. It literally happened within 2-3 days.

I also have finalized paperwork to provide musical services during the earlier hours in the day for activities at one senior rehab facility in town, with many more to follow, as I have a mentor on staff walking me through the entire process.

Amyrose will have work in food services there as well, which she is very excited about. She loves to help make things much easier for Mom & Dad as much as possible at their home.

We currently have arrangements for a temporary low-cost room for rent beginning this next week and have found simple living arrangements at an older but clean & safe apartment complex once financially able to do so. The past 2 years I have had access to work vehicles, so right now we are also saving for an affordable used vehicle (older pickup truck preferred!)

The opportunity to help us out here is so transportation will not be daily "winging it" & living arrangements (deposits, 1st & last month rent, etc.) are secured.

This is all so we can be close to my parents during this time in their lives. We live "pretty much minimalist" & I have not approached anyone for direct financial assistance in most of my adult life until now.

Any amount is blessed & greatly appreciated, even if it's simply prayers on my family's behalf.

With eternal gratitude,

Matthew & Amyrose
