Dearest Family, Friends, and Community Members!

Jessica Alozie and I, Vanessa Villarreal are current Seniors at Gompers Preparatory Academy! We have been attending GPA since 6th grade and preparing to graduate high school in 2024 and pursue our college dreams!

Jessica and I are members of the GPA Varsity Cheer Team. This summer we had the opportunity to attend the National Cheer Association (NCA) Cheer Camp! It was the first time in GPA history that our cheer team attended a 4 day camp.

At Camp, we were both nominated for All-American and auditioned for the title of All-American. All-American is an award given to those who display superior technical skills, leadership, and strong personal values. Now as an All-American Cheerleader, this means that we are invited to participate in performing at this year's 38th London New Year's Eve parade with top cheerleaders!

We are reaching out for your support as our families are not able to support us financially to participate as a performer in the London New Year's Eve Parade. Jessica and I are residents of SouthEast San Diego, a community predominately viewed as drug-affiliated and gang-controlled. We are challenging this stereotype by showing that young women can be successful and strive for a better future. We are grateful for this opportunity and know this is an opportunity that does not usually come too often. Jessica is a family member of 7 and immigrated to the US from Nigeria at the age of 7. I, Vanessa have lived in both Mexico and the United States since I was young. We are proud to say that we have had a stable and positive educational environment in which we found inspiration and continue to develop our character and promote positive growth within.

From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate your support and hope to make London a reality in which we can serve as role models and ambassadors of our school, community, and sport. Cheerleading is our passion and it means the world to us to attend! With your support and encouragement, we hope to make this dream a reality! The goal is to raise $10,000 to cover the expenses of flight, lodging, uniform, food, transportation, Visitor Visa, and more.
