A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A child who loses his parents is called an orphan. But...there is no word for a parent who loses a child. It is not the natural order of things, but life sometimes has other plans.
Life had a different plan for Jayden.
You came into this world like most, surrounded by joy and love, wonder and hope and all the endless possibilities children arrive with. You were born Jayden James but to many you are just Bubba , Jbird or JJ.
We wanted you to be brave and smart, sensitive, amusing, handsome and successful and that's exactly what you turned out to be.
You became the teacher who taught us daily. You have moved us to learn more, do more, and to be better people. Even though you are visually impaired, you gave us eyes to see what we had not seen before. Even though you are hearing impaired, you taught us to listen with an open heart and mind. Even though you are non-vocal you spoke volumes. Even though you endured a lifetime of illness and disability you showed us enormous strength and courage. You have brought so much joy to all who know you. You have made us realize the smallest things can give the most enormous pleasures. The moments when we see the little sparkle in your eyes, your big smile and the subtle squeeze of a hand.
But life has another plan....your journey on earth is nearing it's end.
We believe that Jayden has fulfilled his purpose here on Earth. He is a special spirit. In just twelve short years he has touched each of us deeply and we are forever changed.
We have been advised by Jayden's medical team to prepare for his imminent departure.
No one wants to talk about planning a child’s funeral. For those of us without experience in the matter, the topic is uncomfortable. We want to avoid it at all costs. For parents of the child, it is a searingly painful time, and they need resources and support while going through this.
We are asking for the support and generosity of others to help fund Jayden's funeral and burial expenses.
Jayden and his family greatly appreciate the countless people and organizations who have assisted with his care and needs throughout his life. We ask that you keep Jayden in your thoughts and ask for his peace and comfort in his time left with us.
Please let Jayden's life inspire you to reach out to those with terminal or life threatening and life altering illnesses and disabilities.
