Opie is a 4 year old mix who just suddenly found out he needed his front left leg amputated due to a rapidly spreading infection- the only option to save his life.

If you know Opie, you know he is a very energetic, active, and rambunctious dog -  never lacking energy, he will play all day long with his brother and sister (Romeo and Jaida). He's a runner, a jumper, and quick to learn tricks -  we're hopeful that none of that will change:)

The news of amputation has been a devastating one for Maite (Opie's mom, a public school teacher in Connecticut), she will be helping Opie learn how to live life in this "new normal".  Maite is sad but loves Opie more than anything and will be amazing in helping him recover!
