FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE! Need to see a Lyme Disease Specialist, but it's not covered under Medicare and I don't have the money. I need about $1,000 just for the first doctor visit; his/her fee, alone. That doesn't include any tests, prescriptions, continued treatment, and/or all the out-of-town travel expenses. PLEASE help me get the help I need! ----------------------------------------- Quick History (Updated): Bit in early Dec 2015 by either a horsefly or tick. Found both in my apartment. Had a fever & didn't feel well. Ended up in a coma in ER on Dec 11, 2015 with my face extremely swollen & covered in blood, bruises, and open ulcers after some painful "stuff" came out of my pores when I pressed on my face to make sure I wasn't hallucinating when I saw how swollen it was. My body was spasming so severe that I was literally screaming bloody murder. Went 1 1/2 years of dealing with this & crying for help, but no one believed me. They all wanted me on Psych Meds & put in the Psych Ward, because they all thought I was picking at my skin and doing this to myself. Finally, by the grace of God, in July 2017, a Lyme Disease Specialist tested my blood and diagnosed me with Chronic Lyme Disease. He couldn't help me, though, because he had a one year waiting list. I couldn't afford to pay him, anyway. Still ... nobody believed me. Still thought I was picking at my skin and doing this to myself. This has been a long, hard, and very lonely journey as I've suffered quietly in my home for the past 4 1/2 years because everyone thinks I'm crazy and mutilating my own skin. Fast forward to Jan 2020. Had another severe breakout and became extremely ill like when I first got bit. Went to Urgent Care. More tests show I tested positive for several species of Lyme Disease (to include a European Specis B. afzelii ... which I have since learned affects the skin). The results for Tickborne Relapsing Fever Test were Indeterminate (but I'm positive I have it). Tested positive for Babesiosis (B. duncani). And, tested positive for Bartonella. In addition, I have signs and symptoms of Morgellons Disease. Now ... April 2020 ... it’s out of control and I’m at my wits end! No matter what happens to me, I still love Jesus! He is my Lord and Savior! My Healer! My Deliverer! My Redeemer! And, my hope remains in God, and in God, alone! I believe that God has heard my pleas to either heal mem strengthen me, or send me someone who can help me overcome this giant! The only thing I want everyone to remember about me when I'm gone is how much I loved my Heavenly Father and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Romans 8:28 And we that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose. I know that times are tough for all right now and I hate asking; but, if you are financially blessed and have the means to offer any financial support, or even if you just have a few extra dollars to spare, to help me get medical care and treatment from a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD), it would mean the world to me.
