Operation Taylor

Hi! My name is Lesli-Ann Hambley and I am fundraising for my daughter Taylor Ringen.

Taylor was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia in 2016 after suffering for over a year and a half. She underwent a Microvascular Decompression Surgery for her TN in Nov 2016 with the goal of relieving the extreme severeand debilitating facial pain.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is often times known as 'The Suicide Disease', due to the extreme and unmanageable, painful symptoms. Initially Taylor's entire world came to a halt with the onset of these symptoms.

Just prior to Taylor's MVD surgery, a brain aneurysm was found on the opposite side of her head. This was an incidental finding which had no relation to her TN diagnosis. The aneurysm showed that it was at risk to rupture.

To this date, Taylor has undergone a total of 11 brain and skull procedures/surgeries.

Unfortunately, a rare micro bacteria attached itself to the implants from her very first surgery in 2016.

She has undergone multiple surgical wound revisions, followed by months of antibiotics infusions on a daily basis.

Taylor also lost a significant amount of her hearing from post surgical meningitis in late 2016.

Most recently, on June 7th Taylor underwent a more extensive wound debridement surgery, soon after 9.5 weeks of Antibiotic Infusion Therapy. Four days post surgery,the rare bacteria AGAIN, grew on the bone samples removed and sent to Pathology.

We hope to raise funds for Taylor's out of pocket medical expenses, interim living expenses as she is unable to work and will be going through the SS process. Medical travel is a new thing she will also be facing as her case is currently being referred to different out of State Medical Universities.
