Welcome to our crowdfunding page for Friends' OPERATION PLAYGROUND! Woohoo!
As you probably know, the school's much loved pirate ship climbing frame has now been condemned and the children need something new to play on. Having spent the last 12 months having their education and friendships disrupted, we would love to treat them all to a new space to play. A place to enjoy being outside, to get fresh air, to move their bodies and to just PLAY with their friends.
As parents/carers we know how important physical play is to our children, and how much playtime they have missed out on in the last year. We also know that a chance to properly run off some energy helps them to concentrate on the task in hand once they get back into the classroom.
The cost of a new climbing frame is big... we're expecting the total quote to be around £20-25,000!! The school and Friends are applying for grants, and appealing to local businesses and counsellors, and everyone else we can think of to help us towards this target.
Right now stress levels for many families are high. We're parents too, we get that. And for that reason we don't want to ask you to DO anything else. No sponsored activities, no collecting money, no nothing. So we have set up this crowdfunder so that together we can quickly and easily send through any contributions we can make.
Pence, pounds, big bucks, whatever you've got - it all adds up and it will all make a huge difference.

NB: In the event that funds raised exceed the cost of the climbing frame and associated work, they will be used to further enhance the playground / playtime for the students of St Mary's.
