Operation Indoor Tree

Saturday 1/12 a storm blew a tree onto our home. It fell directly above our heads. The power was out so Gee, Piper and I were working on a puzzle near the fireplace to stay warm. The house braced the tree from falling directly onto us, needless to say we are lucky to be here today. A neighbor saw the tree fall and got us out of the house within seconds of the impact. We ran to her house, Toki in my jacket, and stayed there until another tree the house behind her and then caught fire. We had to evacuate the neighborhood, it was 14 degrees outside and 40-50 mph winds. We all made it safely out and have been kept safe and warm since by friends, and Piper with her mom.

We bought our house in April, and have worked hard on making it special. We are both not employed at the moment, waiting for the animation industry to pick up again. We were working on a personal film in our basement that will have to be on pause for now until ??
Trying to take it all in, deal with insurance and cross our fingers that no other trees fall as the storm continues and then begins to thaw.
We are waiting for answers from insurance, but in the meantime have a very fixed budget and not a lot extra to deal with the little things that we need to replace in order to get by. (Basic things like pants, cat food, and toothpaste) Any amount would help, we only have what we were able to grab. And are unsure when we will be back in our house.
thank you
