Operation Scorpio Rising: A fight against Stage 4 Lymphoma

Christmas has always been Nathan’s favourite time of year: the homemade decorations, the classic Christmas films, the gathering of friends, and the love of family that fills every room. It’s a season he’s poured his heart into year after year, bringing joy to others with a kind of warmth only he can. But this year is different. This year, instead of planning holiday memories, Nathan is battling an aggressive and invasive cancer.

In September 2025 Nathan was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma, an aggressive cancer that has also taken over his lungs, bone marrow, spleen, and even into the muscles of his chest. The road ahead is long, uncertain, and scary, but he’s facing it with courage, humour, and the same spirit he’s given all of us.

Operation Scorpio Rising is our chance to lift him up the way he’s lifted us: to help with unexpected costs due to loss of employment as he is in treatment and adding some breathing room into daily life. In a season built on togetherness, we’re asking everyone who knows him, and everyone who’s ever been touched by community, to stand with us.

A Big Gay Christmas: Turning Tradition Into Support

For years, A Big Gay Christmas has been a joyful holiday tradition organized and hosted by Nathan: a community celebration filled with laughter, homemade ornaments, and the spirit of togetherness. It’s one of his favourite events of the year, bringing people closer through creativity, generosity, and holiday cheer.

This year, as Nathan faces Stage 4 lymphoma, we’re transforming that tradition into something even more meaningful. A Big Gay Christmas will continue, both online and streamed in person at Q Nightclub & Lounge, as a way for friends, family, and community to gather, celebrate, and rally around him. Performers from near and far are submitting videos, and attendees are invited, as always, to bring handmade ornaments to share with everyone tuning in.

By keeping this tradition alive, we’re not only lifting spirits, we’re creating a space where people can donate, show support, and help ease the financial strain of treatment and daily life. It’s a celebration of the holidays, of the power of community, and of the resilience Nathan has shown time after time.

Together, we can turn joy into help, hope, and healing.
