We’re putting together a surprise PC fund for Daniel (PBandEgg). He's someone we hang out and game with every day who’s currently stuck on Xbox. The goal is to finally get him onto a solid gaming PC so he can fully join us.
The build we’re aiming for is:
ABS Flux II Ruby Gaming PC
Ryzen 5 9600X
Radeon RX 9600 XT
32GB DDR5 RAM
1TB SSD
This is a setup that’s more than capable of handling modern games smoothly.
One of the big reasons we chose this specific PC is value. Right now, prebuilt systems like this are actually coming in cheaper than building your own due to current hardware pricing (especially RAM and GPU costs). This setup lands about $200–$300 minimum under what we’d realistically spend building it ourselves (which would also require labor and shipping a fully built PC on our own), while still delivering high-end performance.
Right now the PC is $1400 after the sale, marked down from $1800. We've set our goal at $1600-$1700 so that we can also get him a mouse, keyboard, and maybe a couple of other peripherals.
Here’s what that means in real gameplay:
Marvel Rivals – ~100–140 FPS on high settings
Deadlock – ~120+ FPS smooth gameplay
ARC Raiders – ~80–110 FPS depending on settings
Warzone / Apex / similar titles – easily 100+ FPS
General gaming – smooth 1080p/1440p performance across the board
This isn’t just a starter PC like he's currently got, it’s something that’ll last him years and let him fully jump into the games we play together without limitations.
I know that between our friend group that $1700 seems lofty, but I think if we had started doing this months ago, we'd easily already be at our goal. We can take a handful of months to save up over time.
Every bit helps, and we appreciate anyone who wants to contribute to getting him set up. This is something we know he’ll use every single day.
Thank you!!!
