Hello, my name is Max. I'm starting this fundraiser to help pay for my dog Shelly's medical bills.

About a week ago, she started showing signs of being sick, and it just kept getting worse. She wasn't able to keep food or water down and was in really rough shape. We brought her to an emergency veterinary hospital, where they were able to identify a blockage in her digestive tract. We then transferred her to another hospital for surgery.

The surgery seemed to go well, and we brought her home, but she was having trouble recovering. I brought her back in for a checkup on Monday evening, and they told us that her electrolytes were dangerously low and that she needed to be hospitalized until she was stable. The doctors have just informed us that she has a rare bacterial infection, and they are exploring options.

My wife and I have gone through our emergency savings and have had to make some very difficult financial decisions. At this point, if anything else happens, we're out of options.
