This is my dear friend, Maria Stillo.
Maria is
...a victim of serious domestic abuse and suffers from painful injuries.
...at risk of being deported, which would separate her from her daughters--her only family able to care for her.

Maria is in dire need of your help.
Orphaned as a child, Maria was forced into a marriage with an abusive man. During the political, economic, and social upheaval of Albania in the 1990s, first her husband, and then Maria and her daughter, emigrated to Greece.
Maria endured continual physical abuse through nearly thirty years of marriage, while also struggling to help provide for her young family. Maria's eldest daughter's memories of childhood are overshadowed by ambulance rides with her injured mother. For about ten years, Maria has suffered with painful permanent damage to her ear from this abuse.
Some fifteen years ago, Maria was hit by a car, leaving her with multiple debilitating injuries, ultimately preventing her from being able to work. Having lived such a difficult life, dear Maria also suffers from terrible depression.
Despite these circumstances, her daughters attest to the fact that she has always had the courage and huge heart to show love to everyone around her. She is truly their angel mother.
Today she and her two daughters have been kicked out of their home by her husband, who has also refused to file her immigration documents with the Greek government, which means that by the end of the month she will be considered illegal and at risk of deportation to Albania, where she would be left to fend for herself.
Her eldest daughter, Georgia, also a victim of this terrible situation, is at this time unable to financially support her mother and younger sister on her own. Georgia is trying to do everything she can to save her mother, and refuses to abandon her, but is in desperate need of help.

We are seeking donations for
· $3,500 in legal fees
(legal separation from her husband, filing of immigration papers, and legally-required health insurance)
· $1,500 in medical needs
· $6,500 for both immediate and long-term housing plans
· $1,000 for campaign fees and additional expenses
