Hi, for those of you who don’t know me my name is Kat. I’m a solo parent raising my beautiful boy and our loving animals. I work a full time job, a part time job, and an as needed job in order to keep us all well taken care of. I am setting aside my pride and asking for your help. It takes a village to help me raise my son. It’s also going to take a village to save our sweet Princess, Lily. Lily is no ordinary dog. I rescued her from a shelter years ago, but really she saved me. Since then she has become my son’s best friend. I often even refer to her as his other mother because she is so protective of him. He won’t leave the house without her. They play hide and seek everyday. He feeds her and loves her and is attached to her hip. Lily is a member of our family. She is a once in a lifetime dog. Truly there are no words for how special she is. She is the sweetest girl with so much love to give to anyone who walks through our front door. Those of you who know her know exactly what I am talking about. No one enters without a big wet kiss and a huge tail wag. The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind for us. Some of you know she has been having issues with one of the pads of her paws. I was hoping it was an allergy or she had stopped on something which is why it was irritated. Yesterday I received the news that she actually has a tumor growing in one of the pads of her paws. As you can imagine, I am completely devastated. Our girl is 11 years young and I do not believe it is her time yet. She is so youthful, spunky, and has so much love left to give. If in any way, shape, or form, I felt like she was miserable or in pain, I would not put her through the surgery she will soon be going through. However, she is still her happy go lucky and playful self. She’s a fighter. Im rallying behind her by picking up every available shift I can get my hands on to help her live the long and full life that she so deserves. I am asking you, my village, to rally beside me, for her and for my son. The two of them are inseparable and I cannot fathom them being apart just yet. While I do not have all of the answers yet, the vet I spoke with yesterday feels confident the tumor can be removed and she will be okay. As of now I have X-rays and blood work scheduled, as well as a consultation with a surgeon to go forward with surgery. While the tumor can be removed she is probably looking at losing a toe or two. I do not know yet if this tumor is benign or cancerous. Either way, we will fight as long and as hard as we can to make sure she lives her best life as comfortably as possible. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to get her through surgery and whatever treatments and care she may need after. Please know that every penny raised, in addition to all of the money I can make on my own while working extra hours, will be going towards Lily and all of her care and expenses. We love our sweet girl so much. From the bottom of our hearts thank you to everyone who has read this, donates, and shares this. We greatly appreciate your generosity during this extremely difficult time.
