Operation restore and rebuild
These are anxious times for people working in the restaurant industry. Rapid shutdowns in cities and states to stem the coronavirus have thrown restaurants across the country into a sudden and complete disarray. Revenue has dried up abruptly, workers face mass layoffs as restaurants are trying to manage the resulting chaos.
At Mylapore restaurant the work force has been
cut from 20 workers to just 6. Even the six workers will face a 33% pay cut in April and a 50% pay cut in May if things don’t return to normalcy. At Mylapore restaurant our revenues have dropped 75% this month alone. Next month the revenues are expected to be worse ( restaurant closure for dine in waseffective 03/16) as it will be the first full month of restaurant closure.
We have redeployed a few employees to our
delivery only business MYLAPORE EXPRESS but
still they don’t get to work that many hours. Moreover income from tips is completely lost.
This fund has been created to help affected
employees and their families survive the impact of the sudden layoffs and loss of wages.
Any help will be appreciated.
