Sometimes the Cat Distribution System comes along and asks for a little bit of repayment for all the furry gifts it's provided over the years.
A stray senior cat came to us—exhausted, thin, fighting an ear infection, and missing most of her teeth. She laid down in our driveway, too tired to keep going, and waited patiently for help.
She's estimated to be between 5–10 years old and has tested positive for FIV. Despite all this, she is affectionate, trusting, and clearly remembers what it’s like to be loved—Every time she sees us, the motor starts right up!
Over the weekend, she received her first urgent vet care: a long-acting antibiotic shot and a much-needed bath. She’s now eating, drinking, using the litter box, and resting safely. Her resilience is undeniable. She still wants to live.
The vet warned that her recovery may be a long shot, and that euthanasia could be the kindest option. But we want to give her a chance—because if there’s even a small possibility she can enjoy a few more good years in a loving home, we believe she deserves that.
I’m not an official rescuer. Just someone who said yes when she asked for help. I already have cats and can't keep her forever, but I’m committed to supporting her through medical care and love while we learn what’s possible.
This fundraiser will help cover:
- Continued vet visits, diagnostics, and medications
- Follow-up care for her ear infection and FIV
- Supportive care to keep her comfortable and safe
- Any consultations needed to explore her chances of recovery
No matter the outcome, she will know love, comfort, and dignity with the time she has left, but with your help, she just might get her second chance.
Thank you so much for reading and sharing. Every bit helps—and it means the world to both of us.
Warmly,
Adryn & Princess Runty
