Hi! My name is Biancha Medina, and I am a Peruvian immigrant living in Vancouver, Canada. I started the project "A Christmas for Everyone" five years ago, with the goal of providing Christmas joy to children in Peru. This idea began while I was walking the streets of Peru, seeing so many children working to help support their families. I thought, "If I could just do one thing to bring a smile to these kids’ day..." That year, we raised enough to provide toys, a Christmas celebration, and food for 50 kids in Mariflores-Jauja, one of Peru’s most underprivileged villages.

Over the past five years, we've been able to provide 1,266 children with Christmas joy! This has included school supplies, toys, and perishable food items for Christmas night. We were even able to give a whiteboard one year – the first one in that school!

This year, we’re focusing on education because we understand how crucial it is for these kids’ future, and we want to ensure they have the right tools to succeed. This year we aim to provide 200 kids with backpacks, pens, pencils, and notebooks to support their learning. And, of course, we’ll include a toy, because we always aim to bring a smile to their faces!

For the past three years, I’ve partnered with the International Lions Club in Piura to ensure funds are directed where they’re needed. These incredible humans will be putting the packages together and delivering them to each village. This year, we’ll also refocus on creating a celebration for the kids, where we’ll be providing hot chocolate and panetón (traditional Peruvian Christmas bread) along with entertainment to make their Christmas even more special.
