Amy said it best, so I will borrow her words…
We held Harvey while he passed on Saturday. It was heartbreaking. He didn’t deserve to get attacked in his front yard and we did everything we could to help him. He was a fighter but it was just too much damage. He fought as hard as he could. It is devastating to lose a member of the family especially right before Christmas. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I really thought we would bring him home. We are just heartbroken. He was the best dog we could have ever had. I know I’ll stop ugly crying soon but it’s not today. Thank you Live Oak Animal Hospital South for trying everything you possibly could to help our sweet boy. Dr. Fine, Katy, Jarred, Neveah and everyone there were amazing and loved him as much as we did in the short time he was there.
Harvey has had a rough week. He was viciously attacked by a neighbor's pit bull on Monday afternoon. We rushed him to Live Oak Animal Hospital @ 144th St. & Indiana Ave. here in Lubbock, TX. After initial diagnosis, we were informed that he suffered through at least 15 bites with one very large wound to his lower back. Later, we found out that he had a small piece of metal in his belly that was blocking the pathway from his stomach to his intestines. Harvey has been through two surgeries this week. During his second procedure, his heart stopped, but he came right back. Harvey is definitely a tough, little trooper. Don't forget, Harvey got his name from surviving the floods of Hurricane Harvey in Houston back in 2017. After some initial loving family emergency assistance, his bill has quickly grown to $2500, and it will end up being around $3000. While we wish we had all the money to throw at this situation, reality is that we just don't. We are committed to doing everything we can to bring Harvey home to Aiden, Rocket, Presley & his sister, best friend, girlfriend Bailey. I took a saying that "Peanuts feed Elephants" from someone a few years ago & nothing could be more true in this moment - every little bit counts. If you could help out in any way, Harvey Danger & the rest of us Vile Junods would be forever grateful. Happy Holidays, hug your fur babies & your fellow humans too!
