Operation Give Wyatt a Home

For those who don't know me, my name is Amanda and I've been active in the rescue community since 2019. Over that time I've developed a soft spot for "project children", the ones who need a little extra time, patience, or training to be the best version of themselves. And I've seen many of my "project children" go into amazing forever homes.
Enough about me, let's talk about Wyatt. Wyatt came in as a stray to the Trumbull County Pound May 16th, 2020, and has been patiently waiting for his special someone ever since. Yes, 3 YEARS living in a shelter! Wyatt has overcome so many obstacles during that time. He came in a rather rambunctious young man who needed help on his manners. He and I attended training classes, where he not only learned a lot, but also discovered his love of string cheese. Next issue was overcoming his nervousness of new people. We spent a year slowly socializing him to new people. When we first started working it would take multiple sessions for him to be comfortable. Now he just needs a few pieces of his beloved string cheese, and Wyatt is your best friend. Lastly, Wyatt needs to be an only furbaby. Last year, Wyatt transferred to The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project in hopes that a change of scenery would up his chances of finding his person, unfortunately that has yet to happen.
Over the last 3 years, Wyatt and I have formed an incredible bond. I would love nothing more than to officially be his forever person. However, with having 2 highly dog selective pups already, Wyatt needing to be an only furbaby, and living in a 2 bedroom Cape Cod style home, that hasn't been possible. The only way to make this dream a reality is to build a room specifically for Wyatt. My pop pop had built a patio on the back of the house back in the 60's. So the plan is to put up a metal door to the main part of the house, extend the patio to create a new room, and fence in the back yard. Wyatt's room would also have a metal door, his own bed and TV, and I will split my nights between Wyatt my other 2.
Although it's sounds simple enough, it's a huge undertaking that simply I cannot financially afford on my own. Believe me, I wish I could. Wyatt deserves to live his life in the comfort of his own home, instead of sitting in the shelter with numerous other dogs. Please help me make this happen for Wyatt. He's so very special, and has waited for so very long.
