Update: 

Shaka received surgery on 1/27/26. Shaka did great in surgery and is going to have a long recovery ahead of him, needing pretty much 24/7 care for the next 12 weeks. All donations are still going towards his medical bills as I do still owe for them + follow up appointments. Any/All donations, sharing & prayers are so appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, my name is Stella, and this is our cat Shaka. We rescued Shaka (nickname Hotrod) a while back, and since then he has become part of our family. He’s always running around  and is the sweetest boy, which makes this situation especially hard.

Recently, we found him with a limp leg and took him to the vet. After evaluation, we learned his hip is broken & leg is fractured in multiple places. The medical costs to save it are estimated to be around $3,500. Unfortunately, this is more than expected, and the only other option is amputation.

Right now, Shaka is on pain medication while we consult with different veterinarians to find the best solution for our boy. Any help—donations, sharing, or information—is greatly appreciated. If you’re not in a position to help financially, we completely understand and would truly appreciate prayers and positive thoughts for Shaka.
