Purchasing two PTSD Service Dogs for military veterans in need.
Operation Dog Drop Inc is proud to present its first donation campaign “Operation Doggo Drop”. The purpose of Operation Doggo Drop is simple - purchase two PTSD Service Dogs for veterans in need. The realities of veteran suicides are well known so I wont go much into it here, this Gofundme is about what we can do to help instead rehashing well known statistics. If you're ignorant to this travesty, here are a few facts.
In 2018 17.6 veterans took their lives on a daily basis or every 1hr and 21 mins (Source)
Fourth Quarter 2020 suicide rates increased by 25% over 2019 (Source)
Veteran suicide rates have out paced combat deaths since Sept 11th 2001 (Source)
Goals and where the money is going -
This fundraiser has two ambitious but attainable goals. These goals are large but I really believe trust that together we can make these goals into a reality. The first goal is the absolute minimum; the second goal is what I refer to as a Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) AKA what is the biggest I could dream and still obtain. Either of these goals have the potential to change someone's (and their families) life for the better.
$35k - Base Goal
PTSD Therapy Dog - Fortress K9 trains some of the finest dogs on the planet and have been instrumental in making this fundraiser happen by offering Two of their PTSD service dogs (Sickle and Ragin') as well as a full training program for a discounted price. This includes a pure breed service dog with full training, a week long hands-on clinic with the awardee at their facility, and follow up refreshers.
- Round trip travel costs for the recipient from their home to the K9 fortress facility.
- Hotel cost and per diem allowance for the entire length of stay.
- Cash award to be used by the awardee at their own discretion.
$70k - The BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal)
- A second PTSD Therapy Dog furnished by Fortress K9 with cost covered.
- Injection funds to support Operation Dog Drop Inc. which was created to continue this important
Timeline -
Because Fortress K9 already has two adorable puppies ready to go (Sickle and Ragin’), it is anticipated that delivery of Sickle will be around Nov - Dec of 2021. We are expecting Ragin' expected to be ready shortly thereafter.
