Hello, my name is Gavin Graves, I am 15 years old, and I am excited to begin my sophomore year at Foothill Technology High School in Ventura, Ca.
My goal is to custom build a computer for my schoolwork and for fun online gaming. I have always liked building and putting things together such as Legos and other mechanical and robotic building kits. I am really excited about this project. I believe that custom building a computer will be an investment in my education and beneficial for me to get hands-on knowledge of all computer components and functionalities and I will have a quality computer that will meet my unique personal specifications.
I had a part-time job earlier this year working weekends in a warehouse and I have been collecting aluminum cans. I was hoping to have earned enough money by the time the school year started, which is today August 18, 2020, however, due to COVID-19, I have not worked since March 2020 and collecting aluminum cans is going slowly and has not amounted to anything close to what I have hoped for.
The estimated cost for this computer project is $1800 and I currently have $300 saved. I am seeking donations to help with the remaining $1500 to assist with this project.
I understand that COVID-19 has affected many people negatively and I appreciate any donation amount.
I would love for everyone to see my progress when I am able to buy everything and start the project.

About me:
I am currently on honor roll and have been on honor roll since elementary school. Last year as a freshman, my grades were straight A's all year and I have perfect attendance since Kindergarten. I love playing basketball and have been playing youth sports since I was 3 years old. This summer a surfboard was given to me from a family friend and I was able to teach myself to surf, which has been a lot of fun. I still have a long way to go.
As a sophomore this year, I am hoping to take advantage of the "Dual Enrollment" program where I can go to Ventura College while I am going to high school. I currently want to go to college and study Architecture.
