Operation: Calm Phoenix’s Nerves

Donation protected

For my birthday month I am creating this fundraising campaign for my son, Phoenix.

On March 14th 2011, Phoenix suffered a skull fracture at 3 days old. He was air lifted to All Children’s Hospital where they told us that the chances of him surviving were small. He pulled through his surgery strong and the surgeon told us that he should be able to do things any other child could. Last year, Phoenix was involved in an accident that left a pretty nasty compound break to his humerus bone. He has been in therapy and still does not have feeling in parts of his hand and arm.

I am so proud of what Phoenix has been able to accomplish so far academically and physically. He is such a caring, protective brother. Phoenix struggles with his speech and in a few other areas. The biggest struggle is his anxiety. He worries constantly to the point it impacts his quality of life. I would do anything to take that worry away from him.

His doctor believes that neurofeedback can help with some struggles he has been going through that may be due to head trauma. We also believe it can help with nerve damage in his arm and hand done by his go cart accident last year.

We would like to take him to Bagnell Brain Center in Miami for a week long study. This program is all inclusive and does not take insurance. The cost is $5,000. Any help to offset this cost would be greatly appreciated.
