Operation Bring Mr. Cannon Home

Hey Everyone! My name is Lyndsey and I'm going to tell you a story...

On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, the Cannon Family departed their home in Newtown, PA for their annual vacation which took place this year in Mexico. Only a few short, yet, fun-filled days into their trip, something truly devastating happened.

On the sandy beach of Riviera Maya, Mexico, Mr. Cannon exclaimed he wasn't feeling well after playing beach volleyball with his son, Matt, and daughter, Sarah. Moments later, what they all probably thought was just the heat, turned into something much more drastic, severe, and utterly terrifying. Mr. Cannon suffered a heart attack.

With the urgency, care, and swift actions of his family, he was brought to a private hospital for emergency treatment. However, what they thought they would receive was help, but they were met with something more difficult than that: The hospital told them they had to pay first before any treatment on Mr. Cannon could happen. As the Cannon Family rallied their strength, efforts and funds, they were able to pay to get him the emergency care Mr. Cannon so desperately needed. Unfortunately, Mr. Cannon lost a lot of time.

As of this moment, Mr. Cannon is in critical condition.

The Cannon Family was originally set to come home Thursday, July 25th. However, they will all be staying in Mexico to continue to support Mr. Cannon as he recovers and seeing as Mr. Cannon has not been cleared for medical transport back to the United States.

The hospital has been requesting money at an alarming rate which is causing some serious stress to the family, not only mentally, emotionally and physically, but now financially as well.

The Cannon's are a family consisting of upstanding members, each with their own hopes, dreams, and achievements. They have a strong love for animals as they have two dogs and two cats. Mrs. Cannon absolutely loves her children and any time she gets to spend with them. They are without a doubt an incredibly deserving family, who certainly did not deserve their vacation to come to a life-altering halt.

The Cannon's are a truly wonderful family and any support you may be able to offer would be beyond appreciated. They have big hearts and help those in need including the National Out of the Darkness Walks, animal shelters, churches, and local schools.

I started this fundraiser for the Cannon family in hopes to help ease medical bills and the upcoming bill to fly Mr. Cannon home.

                                                                                                       ***UPDATE*** (July 28, 2019)
On Tuesday, July 23rd, the medical staff at the Mexican hospital began to assess Mr. Cannon's condition to for his potential flight home to the states.

Here is what Mrs. Cannon posted on her Facebook page:

Wednesday, July 24th, he was approved for travel and the team of doctors as well as the Cannon family began to prepare for the flight home.

Thursday, July 25th, the Cannon family, including Mr. Cannon, safely arrived in New York, NY where Mr. Cannon was admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Here is what Mrs. Cannon posted on her Facebook:

The Cannon's have been relieved by the amount of medical attention Mr. Cannon has been receiving and true patience, care and understanding of his newest medical team.

The overwhelming amount of love and support the family has received since this harrowing struggle is something the Cannon's feel is beyond repayable and worth incredible mention and continuous outpouring of gratitude.
