We are excited to announce our plans to move into the Fairborn, Ohio community! Since January 2007 the Miami Valley Military History Museum has been located on the grounds of the Dayton VA Medical Center. When we first opened our doors we couldn't foresee the overwhelming support we'd receive from across the country.
We now have over 100,000 artifacts and continue to receive more weekly from around the country. That's a great position to be in! However, the building doesn't expand at an equal rate. We can only display less than one-tenth of the artifacts in our collections - which also means our storage space is at a premium.
Over the past two months we've earned the enthusiastic support of Fairborn City Officials, businesses, Veterans groups, the historic society, and other civic minded organizations. Understandably, we're expected to raise money to pay for real estate, repairs, and initial operating expenses. We've set a goal of $200,000 - a lofty goal to be sure; yet, we feel that it's nothing compared to the service and sacrifices of the Veterans whose history we strive to preserve. We hope you do too!
We have big plans for the Museum but we can't do it without your help. Please help us make Operation BIG SWITCH successful by becoming a Charter Member. Your donation is tax deductible within the prescribed limits of the law and all donors will be recognized on a Charter Member's plaque in the Museum entrance.
