Operation Ajax is an award-winning interactive spy thriller about the true story of the 1953 CIA-backed coup in Iran, and how the consequences still shape the world today.
Right now, that history feels uncomfortably current. As war erupts with Iran and Venezuela enters a post-Maduro transition after a U.S. operation, “regime change” is no longer a theoretical argument — it’s in the news in real time.
Operation Ajax gives people something that’s often missing from today’s coverage: clear historical context and a way to understand how power operates, how narratives are shaped, and why these events don’t stay in the past.
This project began as a 4.9-star iPad app and a printed book. The app reached 140,000+ downloads and won multiple international awards.
The new web adaptation is now ~80% complete. What’s left is the final stretch: sound design, finishing animation, production polish, and promotion efforts so the full experience can launch publicly.
