I am reaching out as I have been presented with an exciting opera opportunity that will be an amazing leap in my operatic journey.

This year, I finally took a gamble and auditioned for a dream - A German Opera Summer course. These courses play a huge part in helping prepare a singer to enter the European Opera Industry.

I auditioned for multiple institutes and was accepted to the one I most wanted - The Berlin Opera Academy!

The course takes place in Berlin from August 9 - September 3 this year.

I will be performing the role of ‘Naiad’ in BOA'S production of Ariadne Auf Naxos and will be the role study/understudy of the fabulous coloratura character - 'Zerbinetta'.

Outside of the production, this course provides amazing opportunities including:

- One-on-one vocal lessons and coaching with incredible teachers and performers

- Masterclasses on voice and technique

- Coaching on German language

- Movement classes for the stage

- Workshops on professional development in the Opera industry

- Concert performance opportunities, and

- Meetings and auditions with potential agents!

It provides preparation and polish to enter the world of European opera and helps to polish and prime for the Deutsche Opera Houses.

I am trying my best to put together the required funds for this incredible opportunity, but I need some help.

I need to raise $15,000 to pay for the costs of the course, accommodation, surviving in Germany, and flights.

This opportunity is a dream come true, and a lifetime of work in the making. I began my opera journey at the age of 9, when I performed as Cosette in the Bendigo Theatre Company rendition of Les Misérables. I loved it. From there I began entering eisteddfods, musicals, choirs, dance studios and theatre companies. In 2012 I completed a Bachelor of Music and followed it with an Honours year in 2013. I have been in multiple Operas in Australia, and some in the UK whilst completing my Master of Music Performance in 2018-2019, and this is the next big step!

While there's no pressure to give anything, I would be so grateful for any contribution towards helping me achieve my dream of journeying to Germany.
