My name is Ryan, and I’ve designed a 3D printable eye-rinsing device that can be rapidly deployed in hazardous environments and areas of conflict. This device is intended as an early response tool—a stop-gap measure to help people get immediate relief and seek proper medical assistance when it matters most. The inspiration for this project came after I saw a video of a protestor being shot in the face with a pepper round at point blank range. Witnessing that moment made me determined to find a way to help those who are exercising their right to free speech and may find themselves in harm’s way.

I believe that everyone deserves access to basic first aid, especially in situations where professional medical help might not be immediately available. By making this device open-source and 3D printable, I hope to empower communities and individuals to protect themselves and others. To ensure the design remains free and accessible, I need to seek patent protection. The initial steps include a professional prior art search and, if viable, a preliminary patent filing to protect the work for one year. After that, finalizing the design, submitting research, and obtaining certifications will require additional resources. I am asking for support to cover these patent-related costs, with the remaining funds dedicated to research—acquiring proper lab equipment and conducting safety trials to track vectors of risk and ensure the device’s effectiveness.
