Opening my own record shop!
Donation protected
After working in the industry for over 20 years in various roles, I have finally decided to take the leap and pursue my dream: to open my own record shop!!
Nellis Records, named in honor of my mom, will open to the public in November of 2023, a year after her passing.
The location is all set and secured, and I can’t wait to share more about it and the shop’s wonderful partners very soon.
All of this is to say, I need your help!
I’m hoping to raise funds in the amount of $10,000 to help me launch this new business, and to set the shop up for a successful future.
This new shop will be an extension of what I have built during the seven years I managed and curated the Light in the Attic Record Shop inside the KEXP Gathering Space at Seattle Center. Nellis Records will be a meticulously-curated, independent, community-centric, grassroots shop. I plan to offer a wide selection of new and used records, tapes, CDs and books, host live in-stores, shows, meet & greets and so much more!
In the last seven years of running the Light In The Attic Record Shop, I’ve learned a lot, including learning about diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, and how to work to create a safe space for folks from all backgrounds and a wide range of musical tastes. I vow to continue these practices at Nellis Records.
Thank you in advance for your support!
