Hello all!
I am starting a small business in honor of my late mother, Connie Louise Dickey. A little bit about me and my background. I grew up in Bridge City, a small town in southeast Texas. What I loved about growing up there was that everything pretty much stays the same. Like clockwork, in Spring, snow cone stands start opening up in two or three locations around town. Being a small town, we lived within walking distance to any one of them. I remember riding bikes to one near Walmart with my Mom and sister, like it was yesterday. We always had so much fun! Fast forward to 2018 I moved to beautiful Colorado. What a blessing to be living in the heart of the Rocky Mountains where it is breathtaking every single day. And I say that not just because the thin air. But you know what? One thing I noticed that I didn’t really see around here were snow cone stands!! So long story short, I decided to open a for-profit snow cone business in honor of Connie, my loving mother. Connie’s Cones LLC is the name I decided on. About mom, in 2005 she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer, one of the most fatal of all cancers. In her memory and to all other victims of cancer, I will be donating proceeds to a cancer center of choice. Ever, my boyfriend is even going to cut off his long waist length hair…as soon as I reach half the donation goal, chop chop it comes off. I will also donate that hair to Locks of Love, where wigs can be made for cancer patients with hair loss from Chemotherapy etc. A few salons here in town are affiliated with these types of charities. This will add another level of excitement to the fundraising. We will video the hair cut and donation process to share with every one of you. My goal is set at $10,000. If I can achieve that goal, half of the proceeds go to cancer research and the other half to obtaining my first snow cone stand. I have been getting positive feedback on opening one in this area and am extremely excited. Please donate and help me get started on this new phase of my life.
Peace and love always,
Connie’s Cones LLC
