Hello! My name is Sara Williford and I am opening a queer bookstore in Marietta, GA. LGBT+ people deserve to see ourselves represented in media - positively, accurately, and honestly. We also deserve a variety of spaces where we can meet and be comfortably and openly ourselves.
Bookstores have come a long way in providing options of LGBT+ stories in their selections, but my goal is to provide a wider selection with specialized knowledge and offerings from indie publishers that may not make it in other stores. I will also hold author events and book clubs, and look forward to working with local charities that represent and support our community.
This fundraiser is to help me with buildout costs for opening, including repair and replacement of damaged and outdated flooring and ceiling, layout reconstruction, and fixtures (bookshelves, etc)
I deeply appreciate any and all donations, and I look forward to many years of books and community shared with you all!
