Open-Heart Surgery Support for Carolyn Oakley

To all who know the lovely and incredible Carolyn Oakley –

We are reaching out to our network to ask for support in Carolyn’s upcoming heart surgery. This critical but intensive open-heart surgery is scheduled for early July and will require Carolyn to recover both in the hospital and at her home for three months following.

As all too many of us are familiar, major medical events these days can cause an enormous financial strain. While we hope and fight for a future that supports people in their health and lives more holistically, we are humbly reaching out to our community for extra assistance during this critical and challenging moment in Carolyn’s life.

Carolyn’s big heart!

Carolyn has been managing heart-related health challenges for the past seven years, and underwent successful pacemaker surgery in 2019. Now, her medical team has determined open-heart surgery is the only option to prevent a life-threatening emergency. She is expected to stay in the hospital for one week after the surgery, followed by at least three months of recovery at home, during which she won’t be able to work.

Carolyn runs her own small business as an incredibly talented and creative designer/publisher/all-things-web-design-queen. She is one of the most hardworking people and always goes above and beyond. Running your own business is no small feat and requires a great amount of dedication. It also comes without the typical benefits like sick pay or vacation days. Her partner Shawn, who also runs his own small business, will be impacted as well while he takes on extra caregiving duties.

Your donation will help with:

• Supplementing lost income while Carolyn recovers

• Purchasing necessary post-surgery medical supplies

• Managing unforeseen expenses that arise during this time

Carolyn exudes optimism and hope, and cares very deeply about her family, friends, clients, and community. She is always there to listen, ask kind questions, and support the people in her life with genuine authenticity. So much so that she often puts her own needs aside to better take care of her loved ones and support her small business.
