Open Flame Theatre (http://www.openflametheatre.org) has been hard at work the past few years creating the next installment of their Rewilding triptych: The Garden.
With the world premiere of The Garden on the horizon in June 2020, we need just a little more help financially to bring this show to fruition. These funds will go towards paying performers, designers, a stage manager, fabricators, materials for set, costume, and props; and rehearsal and performance spaces.
Open Flame Theatre is a queer, transgender theatre ensemble based in Minneapolis, MN. Our mission is create original, multi-disciplinary performances rooted in the queer, trans experience. Through exploring the surreal and fantastic, we seek to liberate the imagination which we recognize as a vital part of the larger struggle for justice and freedom.
The Garden is an experimental queer opera about the roots of systemic oppression. We are revolutionizing the form of opera, incorporating musical elements such as techno and heavy metal, as well as circus elements like aerial silks, acrobatics, and mask.
Please consider donating, and if you cannot give financially, you can support us, whether it's sharing this fundraiser, or reaching out to Open Flame (http://www.openflametheatre.org) about how to get involved in other ways. We appreciate your support as we go on this journey together.
Full disclosure: Katie Burgess is handling these funds from this site to Open Flame.
The Garden has been funded in part by the American Composers' Forum.
